What has one of the major topics been over the past few weeks?  The economy? Nope.  The wars in the Middle East? Nope again…Tagg Romney’s gross rapist eyes and face?  Close.  Rape.  Abortion. Religious Right.  Come on America.

I see these stuffed shirt, white men go on stage and make ridiculous claims about rape.  Let’s take a look at some of these now viral quotes these morons have said.

Richard Mourdock: “I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God,” Mourdock said. “And I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.” - CBS News

Todd Akin: “legitimate rape, the female body has ways” to prevent pregnancy. - Gawker.com

These are just a few.  I could write a book on stupid Republican quotes, but that’s not why I’m here.  First, I want to point out how incredibly wrong all of these statements are.  However, anyone with half a brain and a high school health class under their belt could point that out.  Second, why is this even being brought up?  Better yet, why are these people in positions of power that allow them to make decisions about female bodies?  Is this a third world country?  1692?  The Matrix?  Why in God’s name do they think this is okay?  I grew up Catholic, and as many of you know who have read my past blogs, I have studied religion.  No where have I seen in the Bible where God says “Thou shalt keep thy rape baby if thy gets raped, intentionally or not”  It must be there right next to “Thou shalt not feed the poor, protect thy planet for whilst I have bestowed upon you, for that is Socialism, and Socialism is the devil’s work.”  What is unintentional rape anyway??? If these backwoods morons actually read the Bible, their ideals they hold firm to would be thrown out the window.  You do know Jesus was a brown skinned socialist who offered free healthcare to the poor, right?  RIGHT?  Seven people reading this just called me a communist.

Which brings me to another point.  I was at the gym the other day, and to get fired up, I enjoy watching Fox’s “The Five” because I work out harder while pissed off.  The morons used the word Socialist and Communist over ten times in fifteen minutes.  I hear these words being thrown around by my right wing friends.  My favorite thing to do is ask them what this means.  Not once have I gotten a straight answer.  Let’s go to dictionary.com shall we?

Hmm…that doesn’t sound evil.  I’m pretty sure no one died from that.  No countries were ever lit on fire and dropped into the pits of hell for helping their fellow man…have they?  Let’s keep going…

Looks good on paper, right?  That’s what the Soviets thought too…then they remembered they were human.  The majority would all love to live in a truly Communist society.  Everyone gets their fair share!  People help each other!  Egalitarianism!  It worked for thousands of years with Native American societies!  Again, we’re human.  I don’t see anything in Obamacare that causes any of these things.  God forbid poor people get the healthcare they need.  God forbid crooked insurance companies aren’t able to deny preexisting conditions.  God?  God forbid huh?  Show me where God says anything about denying your fellow man what is best for him.  Show me where he says to let your fellow human being die because you can’t stand the government spending an extra buck.  Keep throwing that 2 million dollars at the military though.  We can kill our way out of war and disease!  GOD BLESS ‘MERICA!!

I got off topic.  ::Sigh:: I always do this.  I was going to stick to the rape quotes.  I swear I was.  It’s infuriating.  2012.  That is the year we are living in, and people are denied basic rights and healthcare in “the greatest country in the world”.  People look at this election as the end all, give all.  Whoever is elected will shape this country.  We will either go forward, or back to the 1600’s.  Not true, kiddies.  Here’s what you should be focusing on.  The Senate.  Right here in Mass, we are having a doozy of a battle between Elizabeth Warren (D) and Scott Brown (R).  A democrat controlled house can block a Republican Agenda…and vice versa.  For ANYTHING to happen going forward, be it good for bad, we need unity.  We can’t have what we have today.  We can’t have these whack job tea partiers blaring their horns and blocking everything Obama has done. Do you know how much legislature they have blocked that he has put forward?  Here’s One.  Another. More? Why Not?  Anything to make the American public pay for electing a Kenyan born socialist.  Am I right?  Donald Trump thinks so.  He wagered 5 million dollars against it, giving Obama the impossible act of gathering personal documents that take months to obtain in one week.  Have you ever tried to obtain a college transcript?  It’s hell.  Not only did he make the right wing idiots of this country believe Obama was withholding more documents proving HE IS A FUCKING LEGAL CITIZEN YOU TOOTHLESS BACK YOKEL INBRED HICK! He also hung 5 million dollars over a charity over President Obama’s choosing.

Ok, I’m almost done, I swear.  Infuriating.  You want to know what my beliefs on rape are?  Who should be able to get an abortion if they wanted one?  It doesn’t matter, because I’m a goddamn dude.  I don’t get a say.  Neither do you Todd Akin, Paul Ryan, Govnah R-Money.  None of you do.  Land of the FREE assholes.  Concentrate on what matters.  Helping people get back to work, making this country sustainable, protecting the environment.  All of those things are what people want.  I said it many times, and I’ll keep saying it.  The Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves.

In conclusion, for anyone who has kept reading this (and for that I thank you), come voting day, go out and vote.  Chances are, if you’re still reading this, you agree with me, and your vote counts.  So many important races are tied up, 50/50, and every one of us counts.  Every candidate has their flaws, as they are only human.  Some of them I swear are verging on half demon, half human beasts, but they are still human.  We need to put aside out social differences and concentrate on what is best for the people of this country.  Do your part, get out there, vote.  Vote early if you can.  Because come time, each one of you reading this will be the reason we have four more years of progress, or four years of what could end in war, more struggling, and a greater distancing from the rest of the world.  Do you really want someone like Romney in power?  The man was laughed at across the world.  Sarah Palin style.  This can’t go on anymore.  Make a difference.  You had Hope once…keep believing for a little bit longer.

Quick blurb about the debate.  Obama brought it tonight.  I was scared for a while, but over the past few weeks, Romney has said a lot of things that will forever haunt him.  Tonight was no different.  Anyone else catch his “Binders full of women” comment?  R-Money wants to be viewed as someone who understands the middle class.  Someone who will fight for the common man and not give tax breaks to big corporations.  Using phrases like this kill him.  His asshole smirk should be slapped off his face.  How he can bring Obamacare under constant fire is beyond me when he implemented the same system in Massachusetts.  I live in the goddamn state.  He started with small business?  Since when is Bain Capital small business?

How we can sit there and argue over something as idiotic as illegal immigration and gun control is beyond me.  There are things that are much more important.  Environmental regulations, foreign policy, jobs.  Romney knows nothing about them.  If he had his way the arctic would be full of oil pipelines, there would be an electric fence around Mexico and 47% of our jobs would be shipped to China to line the pockets of his investors while he laughs his way to the Cayman islands.  How any of you that make under 200k a year back this man is beyond me.  Stop being sheep.  Whether you like Obama or not, Romney will do nothing good for this country.  Four years of upheaval after four years of upheaval will not solve anything.

While I usually like to keep my blog light-hearted and full of hilarity, sometimes I like to buckle down and get serious.  Or as serious as I can.  This week brought about many issues and a real eye-opener for me…while I always thought of myself as somewhat of an independent, I usually veer more towards liberal agendas and ideals.  What I saw this week ultimately sickened me and made me see how truly ignorant and disgusting some people can be.  One thing I love so much is poor, hate filled people claiming to be republican.

Let’s start with the cookie fiasco.  Oreo posted a picture of a multi-colored creme filled Oreo cookie with the word Pride written underneath.  For more details here is an article.  The backlash and support for Nabisco blew exploded.  People showed their support for a public company expressing their views on tolerance in what was probably a publicity attempt to generate buzz (IT WORKED!)  Also: See JC Penny and the Planned Parenthood media bomb.  I knew better than to click on the links of disgusting people writing disgusting things…but I did it anyway.  I want you to take a look at some of these comments.  What the hell.  What the hell is wrong with this goddamn country.  It’s 2012 and this shit still exists?  I knew there was intolerance.  I knew there was hatred…but…this?  I was astonished.  These people, quoting the bible and their backwards views on religion blasted Oreo and their stance.  I love bigotry.  I love how blind these people are.  They find something to hate and back it up with religion.  I’m sure that’s just what Jesus wanted.  Let’s take a step back and see what some of these people also do…but choose to ignore:

And maannnyy maaannny more.  Think I’m lying?  Look it up.  Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against religion of any kind.  Hell, I majored in ancient religions and mythology in college.  I love religion and it can be a great thing, but when used to generate and rationalize hatred an violence, it becomes very ugly.  I’m not just ragging on Christianity here, all religions have and do suffer from this.  Religion is an amazing tool that can bring hope, peace, and love, if we weren’t so human.  It irks me when people quote and misinterpret God’s word to stomach their own ignorance.

I don’t know why people can’t just be allowed to do what they want.  All this access hatred and fear is unnecessary and wrong.  I never understood it, and I never will.  Don’t like gay people?  Don’t be gay.  Easy enough.  Don’t go out of your way and waste your energy, time, and money to prevent other people from living their lives.  I must have missed the part of the bible where God told ignorant rednecks to beat up gay people and shoot up abortion clinics.  It must have been in between “Thou shall not kill” and “Honor Thy Neighbor” or something…

The Tea Party disgusts me.  That’s a well known fact.  These attention loving douchebags go on the news and blow their tops raving about gay marriage, illegal immigration (get me started), gun control, and “Getting Ammmmrriica back to it’s moral roots”.  If they shut up for a second and focused their efforts on trying to restore this country to what it once was - a place for all people to come together and make a better life for their families and fellow man, maybe something would happen.  You know what’s more important than making sure Billy Bob has 100 guns?  Making sure the average person can get a job.  Or what is more important than blowing asswads of money and time on rallies to overturn gay marriage laws and abortion rights?  Anything else.  I want to see this country great.  I know it’s an amazing place to live and I am thankful for everything it has given me, but this kind of poison needs to stop.  So Teabaggers, I grant you this.  I will tell you what so many of you stoically told me when I griped about Bush being in office.  If you don’t like it, get out.  Because clearly that is what our forefathers wanted this democracy to be.  I will not tell you that “In God We Trust” wasn’t even added to paper money until 1956.  I could go on and on about how this country was founded on religious freedom and that no man would be persecuted based on his religious beliefs.  Be he Christian, Jewish or Islam (yes, they even existed back then!).  But no, keep on hating everything that means change.  Keep denying simple truths.  Keep spreading the word of your corrupted, hate-filled mockery of a God.  Yahweh have mercy.  Look it up.

Obamacare derr derrr!  This blew up today.  Whew.  I saw it all over Facebook and the news.  I am happy and shocked.  Shockingly happy if you will.  The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was deemed constitutional today, much to the chagrin of most conservatives and that fat, goblin of a man Rush Limbaugh.  He said if it was deemed constitutional, he would move.  I will personally shell out the money to buy the UHaul.  I don’t understand the gripe about this.  I never claimed I knew the world about politics, or congress or how these things work, and I will never claim to.  But do you know what I do know?  People, especially in a first world country, deserve a chance to stay healthy and survive.  I saw a hilarious article today stating right wingers were furious and they were going to move to Canada.  To Canada…where tuition costs are included in your taxes…and they have a healthcare system that…wait a second.  Let’s check the internets… “Health care in Canada is delivered through a publicly funded health care system, which is mostly free at the point of use and has most services provided by private entities.”  AAAWHHHAAAA??? SOCIALISM!!! OH GOD, THE COMMUNISTS!!!  Jesus Christ, read a book.  This made me smile.  This act needs some work, as do all, but people are complaining about money and taxes.  Can you, in good will, put a price on a human life?  I can’t.  I never would.  If this act saves one life, it would be worth it.  I saw a Harvard study today that stated this would save approximately 450,000 lives over ten years.  These lives are people that normally couldn’t afford treatment, are denied treatment from insurance due to preexisting medical conditions, or could otherwise not get treatment.  Even if this is 1/10 accurate, it is worth it.
